YouthBuild + Lynn Museum (2021)
I worked with North Shore CDC's in-house youthbuild cohort, a young adult jobs skill training program, to design individualized stencils that represent images or quotes about community care and accessibility. We then spray painted the stencils onto picnic tables that the YouthBuild members built for the Lynn Arts Museum. I also supported the painting of an accessible ramp into the museum.
Process
YouthBuild Members and staff sent me quotes and images that fit the theme of "Community."
I used these references as inspiration to create the series of stencils.
During the Lynn Museum Build Day, YouthBuild Members built two picnic tables. We painted them and began spray painting stencils during the rest of the Summer.
From the Lynn Museum Instagram page - photos of organizing the stencils and painting the accessible ramp.
